I Will Never Grow Tired of Your Face

I want you to be
the first thing I see
in the morning and
the last thing I look at
each night

I could get happily lost
navigating the tiny folds
that explode from your eyes
when you laugh and
immerse myself
in the staggering waterfall
of your smile

Given the chance
I’d curl into a ball and
fall asleep in the shelter
of your buoyant cheer
pulling your flaming locks
up to my chin
to keep me warm

I want to hold your sweet hand
and stare into your deep
and loving eyes
as our bodies decay
and crumble into dust
but even if
I hold your gaze
‘til the moment that we die
I will never grow tired
of your face
